'The Jesus Way' by Eugene Peterson - A good primer for what it means to be a follower of Jesus, stressing how we do things (ways and means) matters. It's also a good critique of the church's obsession with leadership (contrasting the leadership of Caiaphas, Herod, and Josephus - none of which we should want to be as followers of the Way).

'Scripture and the Authority of God' by N.T. Wright - Proves helpful for what to make of apparent contradictions and tension in scripture, how to read scripture while practicing discernment and giving ultimate authority to God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).

Anything Matt Moring writes. He's a dear friend and up-and-coming writer. He will soon have a website called foolsandfolly.com

Several things Stanley Hauerwas writes (http://stanleyhauerwas.blogspot.com)

Jason,
Thanks for sharing your top 10, I most certainly have to check some of them out. Unbroken I think will be the first one I choose, I love reading about history specially during the World Wars. Missed you this Sunday!
